Website pre-production Stages

I have broken down the whole process of creating your website in its pre-production stage, into 5 easy to follow stages. Click on them for further information. In their respective order they are:

Discuss - Stage 1

The discussion process of the pre-production website stage is exactly what it suggests. It is a discussion between the client and AMR to determine what the client requires in terms of design and content. This discussion can be held over the phone or face to face. Here the client will express their needs, but dont worry if you haven't an exact idea, as long as there are some foundations to work with, we can go from there. After this discussion, if the client so wishes, AMR shall implement the 1 page try before you buy scheme, designed to put the clients interest first and for AMR to produce the first page of the website in draft, with no obligation to the client. If the client is happy with the draft/first page, we proceed to stage 2.

Provide breakdown - Stage 2

Stage 2 involves AMR producing a breakdown of known costs to the client, via email/post. As this is a somewhat rough estimate of pricing, costs can be subject to an increase or decrease depending on the production process and whether there were massive/minor alterations. Please take this breakdown as an estimate guide only. However, if the client has specifically expressed their needs in regards to what is to be implemented onto the pages, the breakdown should be accurate. I appreciate the need for a client to want to fully realise the amount they are likely to pay for the website, therefore i shall try to give the maximum figure likely to be paid when issuing the breakdown.

Sign contract - Stage 3

After the breakdown has been agreed it will be time to sign the project contract. I designed this contract to prevent disputes in regards to payment, and to also give the client peace of mind that I will finish the project to their satisfaction, and not my own. Please take the time to read the contract (upon receiving it) and the terms of payment and conditions. The contract will state all of what is enclosed in the terms of payment and conditions page on this website, and will also state that 50% of known costs to be paid upfront to AMR. 50% of total amount incl VAT as stated in the breakdown will apply.

Receive 50% payment - Stage 4

As suggested above, the 50% payment will be due at this stage. Just as i have shown dedication and commitment to designing your website professionally by providing a 1 page try before you buy scheme, i would ask that my client does the same by providing a 50% payment upfront. As stated in the contract and the terms of payment and conditions, the project will not be started until this payment is received. I have put this measure in place in the unlikely event that a client decides in mid-phase that they do not want the website anymore. The 50% will cover my time and effort, and will also get rid of half of your costs instantly. As stated in the contract and terms, the 50% is instantly refunded in the unlikely event I cannot continue with your website.50% of total amount incl VAT as stated in the breakdown will apply.

Start project - Stage 5

After the 50% payment has been received, the start date of the contract will be confirmed via email to the client. This start date is very important as it obviously signifies when the project was started, this is important for reasons as stated in my rates, for example for revisions/additions purposes etc. The client must respond to the email sent acknowledging receipt and that they are happy with this start date. The production of your website will be from this date. Website production is not a lenghty process but more-so a "fiddly" one. If clients specify certain amendments are required etc, then this does tend to drag the process out, this is a good reason why i do not give end dates. An approximation is available upon request.
